Wilbur B. Halter, 86, of Newton, passed away in the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, on Monday afternoon, August 30.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. 

A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the funeral home. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorials in Wilbur's name are being designated to Hospice of Japser County or Newton Bible Missionary Church and may be left with the Pence-Reese Funeral Home.
