Jasper County Hosts the Wall That Heals

May 31 - June 3

The Wall That Heals, a 375 ft. replica of the Vietnam Wall will be escorted by a motorcycle procession on Wednesday, May 30th, lead by American Legion Riders Post 111, to Maytag Park, 301 S. 11th Ave. West, Newton. The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 31st, at 6 PM.

Annual Uri Sellers Memorial Softball Tournament

The 15th Annual Uri Sellers Memorial Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament will be held Saturday, June 2nd at the Prairie City Softball Diamonds. The public is welcome to bring the family for food, festivities and fun with a silent auction and raffle. All proceeds from the event fund the Uri Sellers Memorial Scholarships each year and go back to the local communities.
