Grinnell Tiger boys extended to winning streak to 11 games with a 49-46 win in overtime over Norwalk.  Joe Nowasell hit the winning shot with 1 second left in the extra period.  Eli Dunne led the Tigers with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Grinnell Tiger girls lost to Norwalk 40-30.  Grinnell trailed 21-17 at the end of the third quarter but the Warriors went on a 7-0 run to start the 4th quarter.  Annaleise Wiltfang led the Tigers with 13 points.

Grinnell College men cruised past Knox 128-87.  Jesse Ney led the Pioneers with 30 points, going 10-18 from three point land.  Griffin Lentsch had 23 points, Matt Skelly had 22.

Grinnell College women rolled past Knox 87-67.  Rebecca DeGroot led the Pioneers with 21 points.  Meg Huey posted her 5th straight double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.  Michelle Briggs had her 4th straight double-double with 18 points and 10 boards.

1-26 Montezuma hires new Volleyball Head Coach


Leah Farrington will direct the Bravette volleyball program next season.  Farrington is a 2007 graduate of Albia High School who played volleyball at Central College.  Last season, Farrington was an assistant coach for Montezuma and teaches in the Social Studies department.

1-26 Grinnell College Wins at Monmouth


The Pioneers won two games on Wednesday night at Monmouth College.  The women moved into a tie with the Fighting Scots for second place with a 63-57 victory.  Grinnell trailed by 13 points early in the second half.  Meg Huey had her third straight double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Michelle Briggs also had a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Grinnell is 9-6 overall and 8-3 in the Midwest Conference.

GC's men continued their best start in school history with a 102-90 win over Monmouth.  The Pioneers also came from behind, trailing by 8 early in the second half.  Griffin Lentsch led the way with 30 points.  Grinnell is 14-1 and 10-1 in the Midwest.  The Pioneers visit first place Lake Forest on Saturday.

The Tigers travelled to Pella Christian on Tuesday night.  The Girls lost 70-39.  Annaleise Wiltfang had 9 points.  Jasmin Schelhaas led the Eagles with 18.  Grinnell is now 4-11.  The Boys led 28-6 after the first quarter and held on to win 65-63.  Joe Nowasell led Grinnell with 19 points.  Eli Dunne had 13.  The Tigers have won 9 in a row and are 12-2 on the season, clinching a home game in the first round of the district playoffs.
