Bird Watching Walk and Bird Photography Workshop

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day by participating in a free Bird Watching program and Bird Photography Workshop at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Please see program details listed below.

Guided Bird Watching Walk at 9:00 am:                                                                                                 Join a naturalist to search for birds along the ½ mile Oak Savanna Trail loop. Learn bird watching tips while enjoying the sights and sounds of spring. Loaner binoculars will be available. Register by emailing [email protected] or calling 515-994-3400.

Bird Photography Workshop at 10:00 am:
Join nature photographer Gregg Punelli for an indoor presentation to learn tips on how to successfully photograph birds. Register by emailing [email protected] or calling 515-994-3400

Additionally, there will be a host of other fun bird related activities for the whole family between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
