Jasper County Conservation Board will host Brenda Smith, who works for the Iowa DNR and is also a licensed falconer. Brenda will talk about how she and her husband Jeremy got started in falconry. They’ve successfully flown three red-tail hawks in recent years, releasing the first two back to the wild. Currently they have one red-tail named Artemis who will be visiting the OWLS group.
The public is welcome to join Brenda and Jeremy Smith at Ashton Wildwood Park on Saturday, January 15 at 2:00pm to watch Artemis the red-tail in action. This free program will take place in the Wilcox Green area at Ashton Park.
Please contact the Jasper County Conservation Board office at (641) 792-9780 for more information.
