Newton Man Accused of September Sex Offense

A 58 year old Newton man accused of committing a sex act on a man who fell asleep at the offender’s apartment in late September has been released on a 5-thousand dollar bond. Newton Police say Kevin Eugene Lawson was arrested this past Monday, after DCI Lab analysis of seminal fluid on the victim’s socks was matched to him. Lawson, who lives in an apartment in the 900-block of North 6th Avenue East, is charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. Police claim he has admitted to the September 24th sexual act. He made his initial court appearance Tuesday. He’s now free on a 5-thousand dollar bond, with another court hearing scheduled for this coming Tuesday May 30th.
