Newton Man Arrested in Undercover Child Sex Case Pleads Guilty
A 28 year old Newton man arrested last month by a Baxter Police Officer, as part of an undercover operation with Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children, has pleaded guilty. Court documents show Mackenzie Lee Icenbice, who lives at Sunrise Terrace Mobile Park on East 19th Street North, is scheduled to be sentenced July 11th for Soliciting Commercial Sexual Activity. District Associate Court Judge Steven Holwerda accepted Icenbice’s plea Tuesday, and released him on his own recognizance pending his sentencing hearing. The criminal complaint against the 28 year old says the undercover Baxter Police officer posed as a 14 year old girl on a Facebook account, and agreed to meet Icenbice for sex. He was then arrested when he showed up at the designated 1st Avenue East location shortly after 3 p.m. the afternoon of April 25th. Icenbice’s only other criminal case, according to Iowa Court records, is Public Intoxication Offense from February 2015 in Poweshiek County…which resulted in a 65-dollar fine.
