A PCM Senior has been recognized as a U.S. Presidential Scholar. The U.S. Department of Education says Blake Ronald Van Der Kamp of Monroe earn the honor through his outstanding ability and accomplishments in career and technical education. Van Der Kamp will be attending Iowa State University this fall to study Agriculture Education and Agriculture Communications. He was heavily involved in the Diamond Trail FFA during his time in the PCM Schools, earning a Gold Emblem rating at the National FFA Event this past November, and helping with several charitable initiatives in the Prairie City and Monroe communities. The PCM Senior is one of three Iowa high school students in the 56th U.S. Presidential Scholars class. The program recognizes up to 161 high school seniors from across the country for their achievements in academics, the arts and career and technical education fields. Iowa’s two other U.S. Presidential Scholars are Matthew Ding of Johnston High School and Elizabeth Meyer of Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City.
