Starting next Monday September 21st PCM will be added to the list of local districts whose students will eat breakfast and lunch for free. The United States Department of Agriculture recently extended the Summer Food Service Program. This program is scheduled to run until December 31st or until funds run out. All Newton and Lynnville-Sully students have already been eating for free under the program. PCM Nutrition Director Kerri Roling says meal account notices will still be emailed if there’s an account balance. She also asks parents to talk with their children about extra purchases and a la carte, which are not covered under the government program. Those items will still be charged to meal accounts. Roling adds at-home learners can pick up free meals, but a pre order form must be filled out by 9a.m. the Thursday before the week of the requested meals. When the USDA Program ends, the PCM District will resume operating under the School Breakfast and the National School Lunch Programs.
