The Oskaloosa Indians built a 21-0 nothing lead by halftime and then held off the Newton Cardinals 28-21 on Friday night at H.A. Lynn Stadium. William Cheng had a pair of 12 yard touchdown runs in the second half and Kyle Long’s 24-yard play action touchdown pass to Julian Hotchkin tied the game at 21 midway through the 4th quarter. Cardinals kicker Josh Meyer converted on all 3 extra point attempts. The Indians drove 69 yard to score what proved to be the game winning touchdown with just under 3-minutes to play. Newton, 3 and 3 on the season is on the road next Friday to face Grinnell.
