Body found may be that of a missing woman

Police in Marshalltown believe they have found the body of a woman who went missing about a month ago. A woman’s remains were found at about 9 a.m. Monday in a farm field just east of the Marshalltown Walmart. “Preliminary information suggests this could be the body of Michelle Marie Grommet, age 32 of Mason City” according to a Marshalltown Police news release. Grommet was reported missing March 22 and was last seen March 15 near the Walmart. The body was found by a man working in the field according to Marshalltown Police Chief Michael Tupper.
