With last weeks’ passage of a 12-million dollar bond issue, with 77-percent voter support, administrators with the Colfax-Mingo School District have put out a projected project timeline for the new 12-hundred seat Stadium with new football field and track. Now through May will include work on design plans. In May…June…and July bids will be sought, received, opened and a contract will be awarded to the lowest reputable bidder. Work on the stadium is projected to begin next August and be finished in August 2021. The bond revenue is also going to be used for a new 3-mat wrestling room and a new weight and fitness room. These projects are the first step in what Superintendent Erik Anderson calls a 3-phase 15 year-ish plan to improve all District facilities in Colfax and Mingo. Anderson is in his 1st year as the Colfax-Mingo Superintendent, and notes passage of the bond referendum is an exciting start to his Superintendency.

The Colfax-Mingo School Board chose Anderson to follow Jim Verlengia as the District’s Superintendent February 28th.  He started the job July 1st and is being paid a salary of 140-thousand dollars.
