Newton City Council Approves Summer Concert Series Performers for 2020

The musical performances that will make up the 2020 Summer Concert Series at Newton’s Maytag Bowl have been set. Last night the City Council approved spending 8-thousand 150-dollars on the 8 Thursday night performances from May 28^th through July 30^th next year. One Councilman, 2^nd Ward Representative Dean Stonner, didn’t vote.

The City’s Community Services staff reviewed the popularity of previous year’s acts, and prepared a schedule based on availability of the performers. The City Band is scheduled for May 28th, June 25th, and July 9^th. Dueling Pianos will perform June 4th, Slipstream June 18^th, The Final 4 Band July 16th, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels July 23rd, and The Boys July 30th. There will be no concert Thursday, July 2nd. And Newton Fest will be using Maytag Bowl Thursday, June 11^th.
