Homeless Thief to Be Sentenced for Newton Gym Burglary

A 32 year old Newton man listed by Newton Police as homeless, is scheduled to be sentenced in Jasper County District court tomorrow. Court records show Christopher James Pollard has pleaded guilty to 3rdf Degree Burglary and 4th Degree theft. The arrest report says there is security video showing Pollard crawling through an office window at Cornfed Crossfit gym around 7:30 in the evening October 9th. When he comes back out of the window…he has several items with him. The Police report puts the value of the items Pollard took between 300 and 750-dollars. Cornfed Crossfit gym is located in the 200-block of East 12th Street South.
