A West Des Moines man accused of a June gun-point robbery in Monroe has lost his attempt to get his bond changed. This week District Court Judge Michael Jacobsen denied 20 year old Dennis Christopher Lovvorn’s request. Lovvorn has been held since the June 17th incident. His bond is set at 20-thousand dollars. His charges are 1st Degree Robbery and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Monroe Police say the West Des Moines man robbed a man at a 314 East Lincoln Street apartment around 11 p.m. that night. He used what appeared at the time…to be a real assault style weapon. He reportedly pointed the gun at the victim, and a woman who was there as well.  The gun was found in the ditch by Lovvorn’s vehicle when he was taken into custody. Police say it turned out to be a BB gun. Officers claim a drug pipe was also found in the 20 year old’s pocket. His next court appearance is set for this coming Monday August 9th.
