A Construction Management Company has been chosen for Phase One of the new Jasper County Secondary Roads Department yard. County Engineer Michael Frietsch got proposals from three Company’s. After discussions with the County Supervisors this week, unanimous approval was given to Stahl Construction of Grimes.

Frietsch went on to say he believes Stahl is the company that would better adhere to the County’s 3-million dollar Project budget.

The Jasper County Engineer also believes Stahl understands the County’s Desire to use local contractors as much as possible.

Some of the County’s American Rescue Plan Act money  is going to this project. Phase One includes a building for the County’s plow trucks. Frietsch expects the heated space will reduce the potential for mechanical failures from leaving the trucks parked outside, and improve response times to winter events.
