County Engineer Gets 3-Year Contract Extension

The Jasper County Board of Supervisors have approved a 3-year contract extension for Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch. Frietsch has held the position since August 1st 2021. The new contract the County Supervisors unanimously approved yesterday (Tuesday) is effective from August 1st next year through July 31st 2027. Outside of Frietsch’s salary….the new contract is just like his current one according to County Attorney Scott Nicholson.

Effective August 1st next year, the County Engineer’s salary will be 140-thousand dollars. After that Frietsch will be entitled each year to a 3-percent increase or an increase equal to that year’s cost of living increase…whichever is higher.
