A Monroe man who allegedly assaulted a woman he’s been stalking for months has entered guilty pleas and is scheduled to be sentenced next month. Until then…court papers indicate 36 year old Gabriel Andrew Bandstra is free on a 12-thousand dollar bond. He’s pleaded guilty to Stalking, Domestic Assault, and 3rd Degree Burglary. District Court Judge Charles Sinnard accepted Bandstra’s plea Monday, and set a July 31st sentencing hearing. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department…the Monroe man stalked the victim from mid-August of last year through mid-January. During that time, court documents claim Bandstra violated a No Contact Order of Protection 5 separate times. The Sheriff’s Department also claims that around 11:30 in the evening last December 8th, Bandstra assaulted the woman at an East Kayla Lane residence on the southeast side of Prairie City.
